There are many meaningful ways to contribute to Canada’s COVID-19 effort.

Statistics Canada requires reliable economic, social and health information from individuals in order to understand how the pandemic has affected them. They have a data collection form that takes five minutes to complete.

The federal government is also seeking volunteers to help with case and contact tracking and other statistical reporting.

Online surveillance system FluWatchers helps track the spread of flu-like illnesses across Canada. Its volunteers are currently tracking COVID-19. Anyone interested can answer two quick health-related questions each week to help show where COVID-19 is circulating in Canada.

People can also donate personal protective equipment or other medical supplies. Business owners who are interested can supply products and services.

More information about these initiatives is available online.
